Our Agriteca is dedicated to the tasting of olive oil and typical Tuscan products. It is a cosy place for lovers of slow and sustainable tourism, where you can eat and enjoy on our patio. A visit here can become a culinary adventure, because in addition to the pleasures of the palate, you are invited to listen with your eyes and ears to nature and the rural atmosphere of the village of Montepescini.
In addition to the tasting of our olive oil and food products, we offer a selection of Tuscan artisan specialities that can be purchased on site. We mainly choose food of local origin, so-called “zero-kilometre products“, coming from our region between Siena, Montalcino, the Crete Senesi and the Val d’Orcia. Our specialities include tasty cured pork meats, organic Sangiovese and Vermentino wines, Pecorini (sheep’s cheese) in various degrees of ripeness and monofloral honey.
We are the ideal place for a snack as a couple, with family or friends, surrounded by nature, far away from the noise and bustle of the city.
In summer, we are open daily from 3 p.m. Please reserve barbecue evenings in advance.
At Agriteca we offer a wide range of mixed platters with typical Tuscan products from small organic or other sustainable farms within a radius of 0-20 km from Oliveta della Torre. In particular, we offer the classic ingredients of a Tuscan snack, such as:
Salumificio Ricci’s cured meats from Murlo: tasty salami, salamelle, capocolli, fennel and raw ham, prepared according to traditional family recipes.
Pecorini sheep’s cheese from the Crete Senesi region, together with single-flower honey from our area
Bruschetta with organic tomatoes from our small vegetable garden (only in summer) and, of course, the classic fettunta, the quintessential Tuscan snack: a slice of (unsalted) white bread, toasted, rubbed with a clove of garlic, seasoned with salt, pepper and a generous dash of our olive oil Oro della Torre or Nobile della Torre.
These delicacies are paired with wines from our trusted winery, Azienda Agricola La Leccetella, organically cultivated in the vineyards 3 km from Oliveta della Torre.
On summer evenings, we always have wood on hand for our barbecue to prepare succulent meat and fish dishes from the grill with vegetables or salad from our garden.
We prepare delicious recipes from Tuscan land and sea cuisine, with a particular focus on vegetarian options. Among the most popular dishes are the crostini neri, prepared according to the original recipe with chicken liver, anchovies and capers; the seasonal porcini mushrooms; the Sienese braciata with sausage, capocollo and rosticciana; the bistecca fiorentina (T-bone steak Florentine style); grilled crustaceans; sea bream or sea bass.
